Walker Slater was founded in 1989 in the Scottish Highlands before settling Edinburgh’s Old Town, where its headquarters are today. Despite now being over 30 years old, the company has not deviated from its mission, which is to champion the heritage and sustainability of tweed and woollen fabrics through contemporary and elegant clothing.

This iconic style has been part of Walker Slater's perennial collection from the beginning; combining the commanding silhouette of classic British tailoring, with the features and craftsmanship demanded by the Modern Gentleman.

Fit: The Edward is a balanced, regular fit jacket with a structured shoulder and higher arm insert drawing influence from classic British tailoring.

What is Harris Tweed? Harris Tweed is handwoven from pure virgin wool, in crofts in the Outer Hebrides. The wool is taken from sheep with dense and springy wool, resulting in a resilient and robust heavy-weight tweed. Because it is handwoven, the weave is slightly looser than other tweeds, meaning the fabric has a natural movement to it.

What is Herringbone? Also called broken twill weave, Herringbone describes a distinctive V-shaped weaving pattern. It is distinguished from a plain chevron by the break at reversal, which makes it resemble a broken zigzag. The pattern is called herringbone because it resembles the skeleton of a herring fish.

Fabric Composition:

Weight: 485/G/M2(Heavyweight Tweed). Outer: 100% Wool, Lining: 100% Viscose

Origin: Designed, made and tailored in Scotland.

I visited the Woolshed in Kyneton today and I was so impressed by the stock and the customer service. I purchased a linen top which was divine. The homewares are exquisite, linen throws/cushions and the woolen throws/cushions are just beautiful for the up coming autumn, winter season. Just a lovely shop that I would give 10/10.

The products are devine, Donna has exquisite taste for beauty and quality.I recently purchased two beautiful, soft, warm cashmere shawls. Donna sent to NSW for my Mum’s 77th birthday. I trusted Donna with colour description that was perfect, it was all very last minute. She carefully wrapped, express post. Now I know my Mum will be warm and comforted while I’m not there. Thankyou to the Woolshed and Donna.I’ll be back!
