Walker Slater was founded in 1989 in the Scottish Highlands before settling Edinburgh’s Old Town, where its headquarters are today. Despite now being over 30 years old, the company has not deviated from its mission, which is to champion the heritage and sustainability of tweed and woollen fabrics through contemporary and elegant clothing.

 

The Edward Waistcoat is Walker Slater's signature waistcoat design. An elegant, notched lapel anchors this icon in their collection, along with a viscose back panel and two slanted welt pockets.

The Edward is a balanced, regular fit waistcoat with a 5-button fastening, and waist cinch. 

What is Donegal? A donegal pattern is created by speckling dots called “neps” or “slubs”, in a different colour of yarn throughout the cloth at random intervals. This creates donegal tweed’s characteristic flecked pattern.

What is Shetland? The Shetland Tweed is made using wool from Shetland Sheep. These sheep have a naturally soft and fine wool, which is then spun to create a tight and thin tweed fabric with a slightly shaggy finish.
